Bourne, Bourne, Bourne...Bourne to be alive...

For High School Students
The Bourne Ultimatum is out in theaters! And it was worth the wait.
We are going to AMC Theaters on September 8th @ noon. Be at the library for the shuttle no later than 11:15. We need a solid head-count so we can pre-order tickets. HS students will receive the discounted rate of $4. Bring dinero ($) for popcorn.

Keep a look out!

Kim and Lynnette will be visiting you in September! We'll visit classrooms, conduct booktalks and give away lots of cool library bookmarks and buttons.

Reminder!

Need to renew library items and can't get to the library? Use the "my account" feature on our library's online card catalog and renew any overdues you might have!

Teen Advisory Board

Join us for the first meeting of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) on September 12th @ 6pm. We're going to meet, eat, and tie dye some t-shirts. We're also going to discuss how teens can get involved in helping the library, ie. reviewing new books, suggesting programs, and decorating the meeting space.

You know the drill: sign up via IM, comments, email, phone, or in person. Oh, and Kim will be baking so anticipate some awesome treats.

MySpace Event!

On Tuesday, September 17 @ 7:30 p.m., we are having a MySpace event @ Your Public Library. We'll take photos for your default picture on MySpace (or your Facebook or Hi5, whatever you prefer) and teach you basic HTML so you can create a design template for your page. We also need YOU to help Lynnette & Kim put together a MySpace page for the Teen Room. Snacks will also served! Bring friends! Sign up in the comments area, IM us, call or email. We're accessible either way.

Hey Kids!

Working on a school project with friends? Can't all meet up at the same time/place? Then use a Wiki, a web site that allows you to work collaboratively and can be directly edited by anyone with access to it. (Something cool to tell your friends: Wiki means "quick" in Hawaiian). PBWiki is a free service that lets you create a wiki. If you need help, they have a great video on some wiki "how-to's" here. If you need more help or have any questions about wiki's or other social software web sites, ask Lynnette or Kim in the Teen Room @ Your Public Library. We'll be more than happy to assist you!
